Tetherow Resort is a Boutique Hotel, in Central Oregon (United States), with an ideal setting to hike, fish, golf and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Chris Van Der Velde (owner Tetherow Resort): “Tetherow is a resort with a golf court, 50 rooms, a bunch of vacation homes. We probably get around 20.000 visitors staying with us next year. If you’re an ‘outdoor person’ who likes standing a paddle board, fly-fishing, climbing, mountain biking, … no matter what: we’re right in the center of it.”
“When we built this fitness center we really wanted to have this ‘cabana space’,” Van Der Velde explains, “because it allows us to create a high end outdoor feel at the poolside. We’re getting people coming in from all over the country: New York, Texas, … and especially those visitors like to have a more high end experience when they’re staying here. So the Camargue pergolas really work out well for that.”
A multifaceted product
To meet the requirements of the Tetherow resort, the pergolas had to look good architecturally in the first place, as the owners were all about the details and how it looks like. Renson was perfectly able to get that right with its Camargue pergola, especially as they did the effort to find out the right color pallet and to get everything fit to the owners needs. “Another thing for us was that the patio covers had to be able to provide heat, light and music for when we have a party up here,” Van Der Velde adds. “As Renson is able to fit each of this options subtle into its Camargue pergolas, that was no problem at all.” But first of all, the pergolas were installed to provide shade when needed for the guests of the resort staying at the pool side. “The beauty of this system is that you can easily open and close the sun shades in the roof with the remote control,” Van Der Velde says. “So if you want sun, you just open them up and let the sun follow it. When you close the bladed roof, it becomes watertight and all the water drains of the back. So it really is a multifaceted product, because you can enjoy staying outdoors at the pool as well, even when it rains.”
Gilles Vanpoucke (Regional sales manager US, Renson): “This is the first project in the US where we installed 5 Camargues as individual ‘pool cabanas’. All of them can be used as separate units thanks to the integrated screens that divide them. At the same time, the Camargues are available as a one big event space, according to the events that are held at the pool. It’ s a whole new experience for the hotel guests, as they can stay at the pool the whole year round.”
Renson Camargue: innovative terrace cover with a bladed roof system
The Camargue combines an aluminum structure with a roof inclination of 0°, made of blades. These 150° rotatable aluminum blades provide sun protection and are designed in such a way that the water is drained sideways towards the columns. This water drainage also operates when the blades are opened after a raining period. This patio cover can be equipped with lights, heating elements and flat panel speakers. Plus it can be mounted in various ways: stand-alone (4 columns), fitted to an outside wall (2 columns) or built into an existing opening (without columns). The Camargue can be ordered with maximum dimensions up to 4500 mm (span side) and 6200 mm (pivot side). Furthermore, it is joinable, both at pivot and span side.
