The patios at the Michelin three-star restaurant L’Assiette Champenoise in Reims, France, underwent a much-needed transformation after the lockdown. In March 2021, the outdated shade cloths were replaced with seven seamlessly connected Renson Camargue patio covers. Spanning 1,668 square feet and equipped with LED lighting and sun protection fabric, the newly revamped patio now offers guests an exceptional outdoor dining experience, regardless of the weather or time of day. This renovation elevates the space to match the restaurant’s haute cuisine. The design was created by interior designer Grégory Guillemain (Homage), with Renson Premium Ambassador Highsun completing the installation in record time.

A New Dimension for Outdoor Dining

Grégory Guillemain (Homage) explains, 'During the lockdown, the owner of L’Assiette Champenoise was looking for a more permanent and refined solution to replace the shade cloths that had been used for over a decade. He wanted to offer his clientele a completely new outdoor dining experience, especially since outdoor seating was one of the few ways to continue serving meals at the time. “We chose Renson for its ability to deliver aesthetic solutions that are not only visually appealing but also efficient and timeless. The Camargue patio cover was the ideal choice, thanks to its sleek, minimalist design, which allowed us to select colors that seamlessly integrated with the existing palette. The combination of the structure in beige-grey (RAL 7006) and roof blades in matte yellow/beige (RAL 1019) perfectly complements the red brick building and the surrounding lush greenery of the adjacent park.

Coupled Camargues for a Seamless Look

Jean-Rémy Baudart, Renson Premium Ambassador, Highsun, shares, 'For this project, we connected seven Camargue pergolas to create an L-shaped configuration, covering a total area of 1,668 square feet. These pergolas are fully modular, equipped with Fixscreen sun protection and LED lighting. The vertical screens shield guests from wind, rain, sun, and even insects, ensuring comfort in all weather conditions. The integrated LED lights provide a warm ambiance, making it possible to enjoy outdoor dining well into the evening or at night. Renson’s dedication to personalization is evident in the range of customizable options, including tailored color combinations. A significant advantage is that even years after installation, the patio cover can be extended or modified, offering fresh possibilities with each update. Adding features such as sliding panels or accessories like audio systems or heating instantly revitalizes the space and enhances the outdoor experience.

"Highsun went above and beyond to ensure swift completion of this prestigious project. 'The installation of the seven Camargue pergolas was finished within a week,' Jean-Rémy shares proudly. 'This included removing a section of the restaurant’s wall to seamlessly integrate the patio covers into the existing architecture, ensuring an optimal fit with the overall design.
