When architecture becomes one with nature
|
High-end concept store Villa Arte in Laren (the Netherlands) sells an exclusive mix of clothing brands, luxury home furnishings, garden designs, art and cars. As part of the further development of their unique shopping experience, they went in search of a partner to build their dream of an additional outdoor space. Renson Outdoor and Amani developed a luxury patio canopy around a mature tree.
Increasingly, customers are seeking to personalise their outdoor spaces. Renson Outdoor was quick to embrace this trend towards personalisation with a more personalised project approach. The brand’s product knowledge and experience proved instrumental in the design and building of this special project.
Additional outdoor space
The new annexe needed to exude the same level of luxury and sophistication as the main building to showcase Villa Arte’s exclusive collections. A mature tree complicated things slightly as it had to be incorporated into the design of the patio cover for the creation of a seamless indoor-outdoor space, encompassing the garden and the green surroundings.
A connection with nature
Amani proved the ideal solution for this project in the Netherlands, as its modular units can be customised. The open louvre roof ensures that the tree retains a connection with nature and the surrounding garden. The columns – which support the span and have been strategically shifted – contribute to the structure’s seamless integration on the terrace.

A la carte luxury
The soft contours in calming earthy hues and natural materials look elegant and sophisticated, while the clean lines exude tranquillity. The combination of materials adds a sense of luxury and elegance, which is precisely the atmosphere the client hoped to create. Sliding glass doors, lighting fixtures and folding loggia panels add a nice finishing flourish. Nature blends harmoniously with the refined architectural aesthetic of this design. Mission accomplished.
