The charm of wood — without the maintenance

Aluminium cladding with a wood look: Linarte Wood Design
“I want a façade with warmth, depth and natural texture — but without all the upkeep.” Good news: it’s absolutely possible. In HamontAchel (Belgium), the owners of this modern villa chose aluminium façade cladding with a realistic wood look. Their goal: enjoy the authentic charm of wood while avoiding the recurring maintenance. Linarte Wood Design by Renson delivered everything they were looking for.
How do I choose the right façade cladding?
This is one of the most common questions during new-build or renovation projects. For this villa, the architect envisioned a façade where light brickwork, large windows and an expressive cladding concept work together in balance. He deliberately left the final choice of the façade material to the homeowners.
We loved the look of wood, but repainting every five years? I just didn’t want to do it anymore.
Jan Hurkmans, homeowner

For anyone comparing wood, composite, and aluminium, these were the decisive arguments:
- Wood requires too much maintenance.
- Composite materials tend to lose colour under UV exposure.
- Aluminium cladding provides a durable, colourfast and lowmaintenance solution.
Even better: Renson combines the advantages of aluminium with the natural appeal of wood — the best of both worlds.
A façade that blends architecture and practicality
Through Renson Premium Ambassador Van Gompel (Mol, Belgium), the homeowners were introduced to Linarte Wood Design — an aluminium cladding system with a remarkably realistic wood grain finish.
“We looked at a sample and were convinced instantly,” Jan explains.
“The darker wood tone matched perfectly with our light-coloured brickwork.”
They opted for the Linarte Block 16 Wood Design profile, which strengthens the vertical rhythm of the home’s architecture while providing a warm, natural aesthetic.

Seamless integration of doors and technical components
One of the major advantages of Linarte is its ability to integrate technical elements seamlessly. In this project, around 60 m² of cladding was installed, including 14 m² on the sectional garage doors.
Several components were fully integrated into the façade surface:
- sectional garage doors
- video intercom
- outdoor tap
- exterior power outlet
- outdoor lighting
With Renson’s dedicated Linarte modules, adding technical features becomes easy and aesthetically refined — both now and in the future.

Smooth installation by a Renson Ambassador
Although this was Van Gompel’s first project using Wood Design slats, the team was already highly experienced with the Linarte façade system as a Renson Premium Ambassador.
“The installation process is identical to classic Linarte profiles,” says Thijs Van Gompel.
“Alignment is quick, and additional technical features can be integrated at any time thanks to the individually clickin profiles.”
Does Wood Design aluminium really look like wood?
Theory aside, practice speaks for itself — as Jan Hurkmans confirms:
“When we tell people our façade is aluminium, they often don’t believe us.
They actually touch the slats to check that it isn’t real wood.”
Beyond the aesthetics, the family values the ease of use. The Linarte Wood Design cladding is:
- maintenancefree
- colourfast
- durable (highquality aluminium)
- visually refined
- ideal for integrating technical elements
In short: a futureproof choice for anyone who wants to combine design and comfort.
